Hello everybody, I've been scavenging the internet for days now in search of the 1.04/1.05 firmware updates for the Onkyo TX-NR 906, but all links I found have been dead (for years I suppose). I'd very much appreciate if anyone could help me by uploading them somewhere or sending them to me. I sincerely hope you can help me.

Many thanks in advance and best regards! EDIT: Thanks to the most excellent gentleman sytyguy I finally got the updates. Installation went without any hassle. If anyone needs those files in the future, send me a PM, I'll be glad to share them. It is my understanding based on the long history of these posts that the 1.07 direct firmware update requires the unit to be at version 1.04 or greater. Does the 1.07 update not require the unit to already be at 1.04 to work? Mine is at 1.03.

I do not want to brick my TX-SR875 and cannot find the direct firmware version 1.04. Does anybody know of a valid link for the version 1.04 direct firmware, or can you verify that it is safe to go from 1.03 to 1.07 with the 1.07 direct firmware update? Revised 07 JUNE 2120 PDT: Found the files I needed with this reference. Thanks Tspeer. Using the CD that was in a sig in this thread of the forum, I updated the DSP, HDMI and Main firmware. All went well I thought but I am slightly concerned because I was expecting the MainUpdate Mode Version to be higher now instead of Ver.1.01/07615L. Also, I'm not seeing any reference to 1.08 main firmware when discussing the SR 875. Currently this is what I have on the 875, can anybody tell me if I had a bad flash or if I'm missing something? MainUpdate Mode Ver.1.01/07615L Main 87 1.08/08414A - Shouldn't this be 1.07 for an SR 875? DSP SR8051/08214A SR8052/07518A SR8053/07820B HDMI V1.02 I appreciate any help you guys can give.

MainUpdate v1.01 is the current version. That's the version that allows you to do the updates via serial cable without a dongle. The v1.00 is the one that first requires the dongle to be plugged in while doing the update via serial cable. (iirc, it's been many years since I updated mine). You are all up to date with the firmware that we have available to us. There was a main v1.09 but it didn't fix anything, and we never got a copy of it.

Support for your Onkyo product. Find manuals, firmware updates, product information and. But that barely begins to describe the TX-SR805's potential.Augmented.

Hopefully the link in my sig is still working, I re-uploaded the ISO to a newer file hosting site after finding out that the Rapidshare one was gone. I was trying to hook up a new HTPC to my older Onkyo TX-SR805 but HDMI wasn't handshaking properly, and I remembered this thread I subscribed to years ago. Thanks for sharing the update ISO, I'll give it a whirl and see if I can inject some new life into the old beast.

Anyone here is so kind of sending me the files to update my 875 to firmware version 1.04, 1.05 and the most recent one (I have an old firmware and I was reading I have to update to version 1.4 and 1.05 before updating to the most recent one)?

I called Onkyo 2 times already, but not sure if they would send the update to me or not, since they do not want to admit the problems, and I cannot find a link. I did find the instructions though, so just need the update files.

Regards, Paul. Sorry for the late answer, I'm drowning in work right now. Anyway, I wanted to post a download link to the files you requested, but I'm not allowed to post links because I don't have enough reputation on this site.

I then tried to send you the link via private message, but I can't send those either for the same reason. I'm at a total loss here. How am I supposed to help?

Maybe I should repost this post 5 times in a row?:-P EDIT: Maybe I can just describe the link to the files. Go to Dropbox and enter this after the common link: /sh/ky09dp9ihqk0mrt/AAAk0CpXOSRSRdvgyPzOeyPDa?dl=0 Hopefully this will do. Sorry for the late answer, I'm drowning in work right now.

LOL so funny. I again had the same issue as I tried to PM you buy don't have enough post to do that or anything else until I post 5 more time. Lucky for me your a smart cookie, the Dropbox idea worked like a charm, after I figured it out. For anyone else getting these files from Dropbox, I will save you some hassles. If you have never used Dropbox like me then you will first have to set up a free account and download the program to your computer before you will be able to access the files. FUZZYQ can thank you enough for the files.

So I am assuming that I have to upgrade to 1.4 then 1.5? Did you update your DSP as well? If so can you share how? LOL so funny. I installed the upgrades one after another because I've read that it's supposed to be safer that way. On the other hand I've read about people upgrading to the latest version right away without problems as well, so I guess you'd be fine either way.

You mean the wav-file that can somehow flash your receiver by being played (or some other awesome science-fu)? I don't even know what the DSP upgrade is supposed to accomplish that isn't already done by the upgrades I gave you. Isn't that just another installation method for the same upgrade? I really can't tell, sorry. Anyway, I've never been able to acquire those, so sorry again.

I lost Ethernet and USB working in my TX-NR905, I tried Hard reset VCR+Standby = Net Clear skip ent then push Enter and display show 'Clear' nothing helped. Network settings in Menu is unselectable, receiver is connected to router, also not any blinking port behind receiver and router. EDIT I checked firmware versions and looks like it lost firmware for Net because shows '?' Main 9.1.08 / 08223A SR8051.08214A SR8052.07518A SR8053.07820B HDMI.1.01 / 07706A Video.4 Net.?

Blank Net rfs. Blank Net krn. Blank Net ipl. Blank How to fix that? Which firmware contain soft for Net?

Update

Thank you for answer MikeMartell, I need to send it for repair to autorized Onkyo service in Poland, I told them about that problem with no Ethernet and USB and they told me they never heard about it (I think they mean in TX-NR905 model) Somewhere on forum I also wrote about HDMI inputs problem with no picture or colorful crashes bars, but this was my to early diagnose, this behaviour it's cause be HDMI handshake as I know so problem do not exist in my reciver. When I turn on my devices in good order - first TV then Onkyo and on last input device everythink work perfect everytime. So my only problem is with this Ethernet and USB which both do not work anymore. How do you think this problem could cause some electrical surge?

Or this problem is cause by HDMI board which is damage itself from example high temperature inside. PeterPL, Have you tried the UK Onkyo Customer Care service?
